An opinion letter from a local parent on the high-stakes of the current education system.

OK, time for venting:

I don't know if the Greenhouse is still broken (it looks that way since it is still stuck at "10" pages), but for some reason, spam articles are finding their way into the Newsvine Columnist area of the main page. I've also noticed several similar articles in the Not News group which look spammy.

I am hesitant to click on any of these articles for fear of viruses, etc. Yet the only way to report the articles is to open them. It is a conundrum I don't know the answer for other than to roll my eyes and go play on safe articles.

OK, I admit it. I've been remiss in recapping Once Upon a Time. I aim to make up for this by catching up this weekend with my pre-recorded copies as well as the one episode that wasn't recorded due to the wind storms a month ago (The Shephard, which I have seen, but haven't delved into it in detail yet). Please forgive me for being a naughty writer. I aim to make up for it with the future episodes (even though they killed off my favorite character!!!!)

I guess even the prospect of gay marriage drives some politicians to adultery.

The consumer electronics retailer is dropping the ball on some Black Friday orders, with shoppers complaining they have received emails over the past week from the company saying their orders have been canceled.

This was at one of my district's schools. I'm so proud of our service members as well as our staff who helped make this surprise possible!

Well it's official. My daughter is now a Lost addict. She had the choice of seeing the new Muppet movie and watching my Lost DVDs since we STILL don't have cable after the wind storms. We're up to Season 1, "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues". Gotta love Mommy/Daughter bonding time.
